I’ve been with this series since its beginning, through its highs and lows, and the seventh (and sadly, final) season closed the circle quite well.
This was basically a “S.H.I.E.L.D.’s greatest hits” with some humorous moments, amazing set pieces, and twists that I didn’t see coming (including one that made me re-evaluate my opinion on the sixth season’s confusing ending). To see a show have a rocky start and slowly turn into something so ambitious that it clearly ended up inspiring future Marvel TV projects is just amazing! There were times where the plot did feel rather convoluted due to the time travel, but the acting, writing and character growth held it together. In fact, these three elements were what made this show truly shine throughout its seasons.
To the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast and crew, I say, “Thanks for the ride. It’s been one hell of a journey!”
