DAREDEVIL BY CHIP ZDARSKY VOL. 1: KNOW FEAR review by Raphael Borg

DAREDEVIL BY CHIP ZDARSKY VOL. 1: KNOW FEAR TPB

by Chip Zdarsky (Author, Illustrator), Marco Checchetto (Illustrator), Lalit Kumar Sharma (Illustrator), Julian Tedesco (Cover Art)

Any word I say about this would belittle my love for this run so far. There is a hiccup with the usual sidetrack of company-wide events which I have come to despise, but Zdarsky’s run on the title takes Matt Murdock into what he does best; a journey into his own doubt and coming out with a greater sense of self-knowledge and that of his mission as the conscience and defender of Hell’s Kitchen by making peace with his own.

The artwork, especially by Marco Chechetto whose building and camera dynamics are PERFECT, is simply gorgeous to witness. The sense of space and size among the New York rooftops or in it’s enclosed spaces is just what a book like this needs.

Dirty, gritty, introspective and conscientious; just the way a book about Matt Murdock should be.
