Get blown away by HIS DREAM OF THE SKYLAND in August!

Emmy Award winner Anne Opotowsky teams up with visionary artist Aya Morton for a stunning exploration of youth, ambition, loyalty, and the walls we build both inside and out, animating historical Hong Kong with powerful modern resonance.

“A stunning piece of work… it has depth, lots of drama, bucket-loads of charm, and comedy and tragedy in equal measure. His Dream of the Skyland is a beautiful book that looks set to become a classic.” – Grovel

“It opens with a scene of furtive, hurried sex… but this astounding tale, by veteran screenwriter and journalist Opotowsky, belies its prosaic beginning. With well-drawn characters, naturalistic storytelling and cultural explorations, it’s a stunner.” –Miami Herald

“The full-color art creates a rich and mysterious world populated by sinister gangsters, generous prostitutes, tragic acrobats, and the curious inhabitants of the Walled City — people who don’t exist because they have no papers. This intriguing combination of historical fiction and modern folktale explores the magic and corruption of colonial Hong Kong.” – Library Journal

“Stunning… a multi-tiered tale of fleeting innocence, child theft, criminal acquisition, opium addiction and the earliest days of Kowloon’s illegal ghetto.” – Shelf Abuse

“Ravishing and remarkable” –  Paul Gravett, author of 1001 Comics You Must Read Before You Die

Campbell Whyte’s HOME TIME is Eisner-nominated!

Campbell Whyte‘s debut graphic novel Home Time: Under the River placed another feather in its colorful cap recently, as the Eisner committee of Comic-Con International announced it as a finalist for the Eisner Award in Best Publication for Kids (ages 9 -12)!

Earlier last month, Home Time received the DINKy Award for Best Work: Mid/Large Press at the Denver Independent Comics & Art Expo (DINK), where Erin Nations’ Gumballs series also received the Outstanding Diversity Award.

Home Time is also a finalist for such honors as the National Cartoonist Society Graphic Novel Award, Excellence in Graphic Literature Award, Readings Children’s Book Prize, and Aurealis Award. Fans know that Campbell crafted the book around six main characters, famously using a different art style in each chapter to represent each one – and at this rate, he’s on track to get an award for each kid!

You can take a closer look at Home Time and Gumballs on our web site!

Congratulations to Campbell, Erin, and all the outstanding nominees.

Welcome to THE WALLED CITY! And we’re off to TCAF
