To celebrate J.R.R Tolkien’s The Hobbit’s 75th anniversary and in anticipation of the forthcoming The Hobbit on Friday December 14th, Euro Media Forum, Science is Culture in conjunction with Eden Cinemas are proud to launch The Hobbit drawing competition open to children up to 13 years of age, the winner will be the receiver of two children’s tickets plus one ticket for an accompanying parent to watch any suitably rated film at Eden cinemas.
Children are required to draw and colour their favourite fantasy character. All entries will be exhibited at the Italian Cultural Institute where The Return To Middle Earth – How Lord of the Rings began – event will take place on Monday the 10th of December at 6 p.m. The winners will be announced during the Monday 10th December event and the judging panel will consist of a number of professionals in the field of comic book creation. Each participant is allowed one entry, which should be on A4 paper, together with full name, age, address, telephone number and identification number of participant. Entries can be submitted by post or delivered by hand to the reception staff at the Workers Memorial Building, South Street, Valletta, VLT 1103, during office hours. Closing date is 10th December at 3 p.m.
Participants are encouraged to attend The Lord of the Rings event that will take place on Monday the 10th of December at the Workers Memorial Building at 6 p.m. During this event J.RR Tolkien and the universe of Middle Earth will be discussed. Also on the 10th of December an exhibition will be launched featuring Lord of the Rings and Hobbit memorabilia which will last till Wednesday the 12th of December. Entrance is free.
