Chew (Vol 1-Vol 2 Tpbs)

Although I read all kinds of comics, the type of stories and artwork presented in this comic is usually not my favourite but I have been hearing so many good reviews that I had to give it a try. Is this book really worth all the praise and hype the critics are giving it? Oh yeah and I am enjoying every page! The main character is Tony Chu, sort of an X-files type of cop who whenever he eats something he gets peculiar psychic impressions which feature a historical picture of the ‘thing’ being eaten. I am sure that writer John Layman (if he is interested!) will soon be writing for any big company given his witty dialogue and gripping story. Rob Guillory’s cartoonish artwork could not be more perfect for the story. Warning – Do not eat anything before reading this story as poor Tony Chu has to eat some odd things to solve crimes that might upset you!
